The Royal Wharf Community Dock is the only community centre in the area. It is situated in the heart of the Royal Wharf, five minutes’ walk from West Silvertown and Pontoon Dock Stations on the DLR. Our ground floor, accessible building has several options for space hire including community activities, workshops, training, and events and conferences.
It is also available for private hire for children’s parties, small celebrations, with a 25% discount for people who live in Royal Wharf.

The Centre is available from 9am all week and any evening bookings must finish by 9pm on weekdays and 5pm at weekends. All hires are subject to availability.
People will use the space for all sorts of activities and we run our own too. If you aren’t sure which space will work best for you, we advise that you book a time with us to visit and check the configuration needed for your hire.

To check availability quickly online, and request a space that best suits your needs by use our online booking system.
This will allow you to see when the spaces are available and you can selct a date and time in one of our spaces. We will get back to you – your booking is not secured until you have received a confirmation from RWCD staff that it has been accepted and we have received your cash deposit payment. This includes bookings made on the online system.
Please enter details in the notes section about the hire – what it is for and numbers expected. Please note that if you book on the online system it will not show the RW residents discount – this will be applied once we have your address so include this in the notes section too!
You will be asked for your card details and these will be kept securely by the system. Once it is 2 weeks before your hire (or as soon as the hire has been confirmed if less than 2 weeks) then your card will be charged for the full amount. This means that if you cancel before 2 weeks you will not be charged.
Once your hire has been confirmed we will need a cash deposit to secure the booking. We’ll email with details about how to pay this. Deposits are returnable after the event if the terms and conditions of hire have been met. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with them before hiring as your deposit will only be returned in full if you adhere to them.

How to find us
There is no car parking at the community Dock. The parking at Royal Wharf is not run by us. You can pay to park but spaces are very limited – there are signs by all the parking bays with instructions on how to pay and how much it is. There is one disabled bay in the spaces closest to the centre.
DLR stations Pontoon Dock and West Silvertown are just a few minutes’ walk away, and the 474 bus stops nearby at the Mill Road stop.
